iPhone 18: Cubana Chief Priest Blasts Nnamdi for Mocking His Luxury Lifestyle

Nigerian socialite and businessman Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has responded to a social media post by a media personality identified as Nnamdi, after the latter appeared to mock him over his display of the iPhone 18.

The exchange, which has generated attention online, began after Nnamdi shared a photograph of Cubana Chief Priest standing beside a luxury vehicle while holding a smartphone believed to be an iPhone 18.

In the post, Nnamdi questioned the reason for what he described as an “iPhone 18 posture” and suggested that the businessman was trying too hard to display his wealth.

Nnamdi wrote: “I’ve not seen a millionaire as insecure as this dude. What’s the iPhone 18 posture for??”

The post appeared to target Cubana Chief Priest’s public display of the device and lifestyle, prompting a response from the businessman.

Cubana Chief Priest Responds to Nnamdi

Cubana Chief Priest did not ignore the comment. In a reply, he appeared to turn the criticism back on Nnamdi, suggesting that the media personality was uncomfortable with seeing his wealth and achievements.

He wrote:

“Poor people and pepper body 😂 the goal is well achieved you must see am, you must feel am, the only way to avoid seeing it na to just blind yourself. 😂😂”

The response quickly became a talking point among social media users, with some interpreting it as a direct clapback at Nnamdi's criticism.

Cubana Chief Priest's response suggests that he sees his fashion, cars and other luxury possessions as part of the lifestyle he has worked to achieve and is comfortable displaying publicly.

What Sparked the Online Exchange?

The controversy centres on a photograph showing Cubana Chief Priest beside a luxury vehicle while holding a smartphone.

Nnamdi's criticism focused on the manner in which the phone was being displayed in the photograph. Rather than simply questioning the device itself, he suggested that the pose reflected insecurity.

Cubana Chief Priest, however, appeared to interpret the criticism differently. His response suggested that the reaction itself demonstrated that his lifestyle was attracting the attention he intended.

The exchange has since added another chapter to the ongoing social media conversations surrounding Nigerian celebrities, businessmen and public figures who frequently showcase expensive cars, designer fashion, watches and other luxury items.

Cubana Chief Priest's Public Profile

Cubana Chief Priest is one of Nigeria's most recognisable nightlife figures and social media personalities. His public profile extends beyond entertainment and nightlife into business, celebrity relationships and politics.

His political activities have also attracted considerable attention in recent months.

In February 2026, The Guardian reported that Cubana Chief Priest had urged people in the South-East to work with President Bola Tinubu's administration, while arguing that political alignment could benefit the region.

His political comments have previously generated controversy as well. In November 2025, Premium Times reported that he criticised the Federal Government over the continued detention and sentencing of Nnamdi Kanu and argued that the issue could affect political support in the South-East.

That background has contributed to the level of attention his social media posts often receive.

Luxury Lifestyle and Social Media Culture

The latest exchange also reflects a broader debate about how Nigerian celebrities and wealthy personalities present themselves online.

For some social media users, displaying expensive possessions is simply a celebration of success. Others view repeated displays of luxury as unnecessary or as an attempt to attract attention.

In this case, Nnamdi's comment questioned Cubana Chief Priest's decision to prominently display the phone, while the businessman responded by making it clear that he was not bothered by the criticism.

The disagreement remains a social media exchange between the two personalities, rather than evidence of any confirmed dispute beyond their public comments.

Cubana Chief Priest Fires Back

With his response, Cubana Chief Priest appeared determined to make it clear that criticism would not stop him from enjoying or displaying the lifestyle he has built.

His reference to people being unable to avoid seeing his possessions unless they “blind yourself” was interpreted by many as a confident response to the criticism.

The incident has once again highlighted how quickly celebrity posts, luxury displays and online reactions can turn into trending entertainment stories in Nigeria.

For now, the iPhone 18 photograph has become the centre of an online back-and-forth between Cubana Chief Priest and Nnamdi, with social media users weighing in on both sides.
